Personal Computer  |
This is going to be a must have for all researchers. Some of the heaviest work load you will encounter is on a computer. I recommend that every researcher have one. All of your compiled data that you collect during an investigation can be safely stored and maintained on the PC. |
Game Ear II  |
This is definitely one useful item. The Game Ear II provides unbelieveable sensitivity and low prices. With this little item, you can hear (LF) sounds and at great distances. The cost around $300.00 but are worth it. |
Oscilloscope  |
This is definitely one useful item, however, most people have never utilized or even encountered one. To provide a very simplistic definition for the Oscilloscope, one would have to state that the Oscilloscope is no more than a type of converter. The user would connect an input cable to an other device. This device would provide an electrical pulse or signal through an input cable which is connected to the Oscilloscope. The signal is then converted over to that of a light beam which is viewable on a small TV monitor. As a signal increases in strength, the monitor will display a spike. This is a very useful item when reviewing "EVP's". Oscilloscopes can range from $100.00 through $35,000,00. Utilizing an item like this is solely left to the discretion of the researcher. I will let the researcher determine if the item is direly needed. |
Spectrum Analyzer  |
This is definitely a useful item, however, it is rather costly. You can purchase a decent new Spectrum Analyzer for about $3500.00 . The Spectrum Analyzer is very useful when utilized in the studying of signals and frequencies. I will leave this piece of equipment up to the researcher, however, I find it to be very helpful in my researching endeavors. |
Reel to Reel Recorder  |
This is without a doubt, an old piece of equipment. However, it still can be rather useful during residential investigations. Most reel to reel units utilize 1/4" tape and possess between 2 to 4 track capabilities. Most decent reel to reel units can be obtained for around $300.00ea. These are especially useful in collecting audio samples and can support up to (4) input devices. |
