It has been said by others that Paranormal research isn't exactly a science. This may be true for those who are utilizing limited insight. However, I beg to differ with that analogy. I have thus far founded many an answer through that of science and scientific implementation. Numerous paranormal phenomena's can be confirmed or denied through that of basic Physics. I consider this field to be highly scientific in nature and to perform efficiently you must have the appropriate equipment to achieve positive results. These devices listed below are the recommended tools that the standard field researcher should utilize in gathering evidence during an investigation. There are more advanced components being engineered and tested by the New Journey Ghost Research organization. These new pieces of equipment will cover areas where data collection has failed to recover previously. Once this advanced equipment is proven to be effective and relative in data collection, they will be posted on this page for users to thoroughly review.

This is a great type of clothing for the field researcher. I utilize them and find them to be very effective and warm during the winter seasons. The shirts, pants and jackets have numerous pockets to store items and are rather affordable and easily obtainable. |
Web Belt  |
Here is another very useful piece of equipment for the field researcher. The Web Belt is constructed of heavy duty nylon and is heavily utilized by the law enforcement and the military fields in carrying accessories. I utilize one in my endeavors and find it very useful for carrying extra equipment in the field. |
Digital Camera  |
This item is steadily catching on in the paranormal research field, however, they are still quite costly. The nice feature regarding digital cameras is that the user may view the photo immediately instead of having to wait to get the film developed to review the findings. I highly recommend this piece of equipment. |
35mm Camera  |
This is probably the most standardized item and the most easy to obtain. Try to get one with a Telephoto lens if you can. You can obtain a cheap 35mm camera for as little as $20.00 |
Tripod  |
This will be a stable foundation for your camera or video camera. In some cases you may need a couple of these tripods for research. I will leave this item up to the researcher. |
Electromagnetic Field Detector  |
This tool will help identify the presence of Electro Magnetic Fields in the area of your research. Some paranormal phenomena's tend to generate these fields due to their need for energy. A fluctuating field is a dead give away of paranormal activity. |
Cassette Tape Recorder  |
You will be using this piece of equipment with an external Microphone to detect "Electronic Voice Phenomena". This Phenomena is still unexplained, but is very real in nature. I can promise you that much. Spend a little extra $$ here and get a good audio recorder with a digital counter, you won't have any regrets. When selecting an external microphone, choose one that offers a stage quality and an omni-directional sound feature. This helps in detecting the direction of sound and notable movement within the recording area. |
External Microphones  |
This piece of equipment is to be utilized in conjunction with either a Cassette Recorder as mentioned above, a digital recorder or the Reel To Reel unit posted below. This is a rather important piece of equipment and likewise is the choice you will have to make when selecting one for purchase. You see my friends, I have thus far determined through rigorous studies that the choice frequency range for capturing the "EVP" phenomenon is between 20hz. through the 20khz. range. With a microphone of this caliber, you will be able to receive and record low frequency sound waves as low as 15hz. Microphones operating within this above frequency range can be rather difficult to find at times and you may have to do some searching to locate one. |
Video Recorder  |
This is a handy little device that records Audio & Video and it can be helpful during the research of a site. In some cases it can replace your need for a cassette recorder. When purchasing this item, try to get one that also offers decent recording qualities in low or no light environments, such as night vision capabilities. |
