Orbs: The Reality

  Friends, I have a few observations regarding the field of Paranormal Researching that I wish to share with the masses. This field of study has been plagued by misconception, conjecture and is still not fully understood or accepted as a valid field of study under the guidelines of science. In a historic time line, everything on this planet evolves in one way or another to better conform too it’s environment. It either does so or it becomes extinct. I do believe that this field of study is past due for it’s evolution. One particular issue I wish to address is the "ORB" phenomenon. From the beginning, I was very skeptical of it’s validity and thought long and hard as to how I could test the phenomenon. To capture the anomaly on a still photograph wasn’t enough for me. I wished to obtain info as to whether or not there was a true connection between that of the Orb phenomenon and paranormal activity. After testing the waters and taking thousands of photographs, both digital and in 35mm format. I noticed some very interesting issues which increased my levels of skepticism. In all the 35mm photos, only a hand full and I mean only a hand full of the photos displayed strange or questionable anomalies. However, a huge majority of the digital photos taken in all different types of environments, displayed this Orb anomaly.

  Now, what I am going to say may stir the masses and create discontent, so hold on to your selves. There are a couple devised experiments which very well could prove that Orbs are just a photographic anomaly. I will get to these logic based experiments shortly. If this experimentation is possible and Orbs are proven to be just an anomaly created by the camera itself or the manner in which it is being utilized, then the lack of a paranormal connection would be self evident to all. After years of contemplation, I have devised what I think is a way to prove the irrelevance of the orb. We have already established that the orb anomaly can be created through multiple methods and some are issues concerning environmental variables. The combined variables are what I call "Free Floaters". These are microscopic airborne particles which are floating free within our environment. Such things could be classified as the following; condensation, dust, insects, etc. An easy way to test for free floaters the next time you are taking photo’s would be to utilize a million watt candle flashlight. These are relatively inexpensive and easily obtainable. Simply turn on the handheld spotlight and look within the beam of light. Undoubtedly, you will see these free floaters flying throughout the beam itself. These free floating particles are reflective in nature and are conducive grounds for creating the "Orb" anomaly. Now add in the digital camera’s issues regarding it’s operating in low light settings and it’s issues with depth perception. It is my firm belief than when the right properties are combined the anomaly appears. Furthermore, there is another damaging issues concerning still photographs and the Orb anomaly. Still photos can and will never be finalizing, concrete evidence, proving the existence there of. They can never be anything more than supporting evidence. The only way to truly test this theory is to conduct scientific based tests, utilizing a multitude of both digital and 35mm cameras within a controlled environment. Often this term confuses and I wish to clarify the term right away. A controlled environment is an area where all variables are within control of the researcher. All variables such as temperature, humidity, condensation, air flow, etc, are scientifically controlled and monitored. At one time I was contemplating the construction of such a control chamber to prove my theory. After reviewing the qualifications of creating such a controlled environment I was horrified by the price tag. The cost is very high. This being the case, I had to dismiss the thought for the time being. However, the cost should not be the deterring factor, this theory should still be tested in the future and not be dismissed due to monetary restrictions. 

  All in all folks, take it for what it is worth, as a scientific minded researcher who see’s the Laws Of Physics as a binding factor, I have to give the Orb phenomenon a "ZERO" as being relative within the realm of paranormal activity. I cannot find a connection or any way shape of form which would even indicate that the Orb was in some way connected to that of paranormal activity. Now, I know this finding is not going to set well with the masses. Unfortunately, there are allot of researchers who base far too much credence upon the Orb phenomenon. There are many who base their whole investigation upon the presence of Orb’s in their still photo’s. I know that many are going to wish to argue that Orbs are paranormal in nature. To those individual’s, I have but two simple but well phrased words for you, "Prove It". To those individuals like myself who have evolved from past theories or beliefs, I say, Kudos, welcome to the new evolution. For those who argue the point and refuse to apply scientific theory to their practices, I say, evolve or become extinct! I have not been the only individual who has felt skeptical or thought this way about the Orb phenomenon within the digital realm.
