Digital Recorders
Digital Recording:
With the coming of the computer age came the introduction of the digital format. Slowly, everything started to convert over to an electronic based digital format. I have tested many different venues in the digital realm when studying the EVP phenomenon. These devices range from computer based collectors, mini-digital recorders to that of the professional quality DAT recorder. The digital based recorder is a much more refined, professional format. Digital recordings offer searing highs to rumbling low’s with complete, concise clarity and progression. Recordings are far cleaner and clearer than the analog format and digital signaling can be better filtered and manipulated far better than the analog format. I have spent a great amount of time as a sound tech, fully involved in the analog field. I have branched into the digital field as a means of growth and found nothing but supreme results among my endeavors. Even though I have converted some of my equipment to a digital format, I still utilize the older analog and rely on it’s output just as I rely on my digital sources. Whether you are analog or digital, I encourage all to dabble in both formats and find what works for you. Look for the answers, they are right in front of us all.
